Come, let us play with the magic of alphabet...

Learning to Read

We are going to look at some short poems, both humorous and serious. These poems have a simple rhyme structure and are often presented in a form that tells something about the poem itself. A short poem can tell a story or communicate feelings just as well as a long poem can. The short poem can also be just as challenging to write as a much longer poem. Here are three examples:

Life

Life itself
is POETRY
I merely wait for the words
to grow
clear to me.

A Worthy Project

I think, I'd paint
the moon
today
Before the years
all

lip awaaaaaaaaay!

Oceans

All my life
all my emotions
have come rushing
at me
like
vast swirling oceans.
