Great tips for a great room of your own.
Having a room of your own is really cool. Having a room that you will enjoy spending time in will be more cool. Here are a few cool tips to make your room extra special.
Start at the door.
Give your room a name like Danny's Den or Harry's Hangout or Cathy's Cozy Corner, there's so many names you could choose from. Try and be a little innovative and as funny as possible.
You could also hang up a small message like 'Enter at your own risk' or 'Welcome aboard', 'Hop on' 'Go where no man has gone' or whatever you feel will be great.
Get a message board
Rather than pasting posters, photos or drawings on the wall, get a large wooden board and pin them on to it. You could even decorate the board or paint on it. Pin up photos of your buddies, family, lists of birthdays and important days you would want to remember, drawings you have done etc. Let your imagination run wild.
Bring the Milky Way into your room.
Get a few sheets of radium paper (the kind that glows in the dark). Cut out as many stars as you can and stick them on the ceiling. In the night your ceiling will be transformed into the Milky Way. You will love sleeping under the stars.
Flower power
Keep a vase on the windowsill and fill it with flowers from your garden whenever you can. If you don't have a garden, try getting a potted plant for your window. You could ask your parents for help here. Have fun watching your plant grow.
Snack bar
There's no harm in keeping a few munchies handy for friends who drop by or something to crunch on while you're studying.
Help you buddy do his or her room up too
It's a very nice way to spend a boring day. And you buddy will be very happy to have someone help him or her. May be he or she will return the favor one day.
Besides all this you'll have to get the basics straight. You will have to keep your room as neat as possible, if you want your friends to feel comfortable. Please try and air-out your room. Throw-open the windows and let the sunshine in whenever you can. Gets rid of that musty smell in no time.
Do have fun while doing this that's the first thing you need to remember.
